Dr. Jessica DeLong - President, Co-founder
Dr. Jessica DeLong earned her medical degree from Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Virginia in 2007 and was appointed to the Alpha Omega Alpha honors society. She completed her undergraduate degree in Biology and Spanish at the University of Virginia in 2003. Both her surgery internship and urology residency were completed at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington, Massachusetts. After graduating from her residency in 2013, she went on to complete her fellowship in Adult and Pediatric Reconstructive Urology at Eastern Virginia Medical School in 2014.
Dr. DeLong specializes in pelvic floor and genitourinary reconstruction, including urethral stricture, Peyronie’s disease, erectile dysfunction, male and female incontinence, female prolapse, and complicated urinary disorders. She is board certified in urology and is a member of the American Urological Association (AUA), Genitourinary Reconstructive Surgeons (GURS), Société Internationale d’ Urologie (SIU), and Society of Women in Urology (SWIU).
Dr. DeLong has published in many journals and texts regarding her work. She has presented her research extensively both at the national and international level. She is co-chair for a Pelvic Floor/Women’s Health center at a local hospital. She is committed to work in resource poor settings and has traveled as a volunteer both while in training and as a visiting professor to set up sustainable training models for surgical care. She is the co-founder of the first genitourinary reconstructive urology fellowship in the Caribbean. She is also the co-founder of SAFE Surgery and Anesthesia For Everyone, Inc.

Dr. Ramon Virasoro - Secretary, Co-founder
Dr. Ramón Virasoro earned his medical degree from the University of Buenos Aires (UBA), Argentina. He completed both general surgery and urology residencies at Centro de Educación Médica e Investigaciones Clínicas (CEMIC) in Buenos Aires, Argentina from 1992 to 1999. He practiced general urology from 2000-2004 at CEMIC, where he was a member of the kidney transplant team. Dr. Virasoro was also a member of the kidney transplant team at Fundación René Favaloro, in Buenos Aires Argentina, from 2007 to 2010. Dr. Virasoro completed his fellowship in Adult and Pediatric Genitourinary Reconstructive Surgery in 2007, in Norfolk, VA. Dr. He developed the genitourinary reconstructive surgery section at CEMIC. He was the coordinator from 2007 to 2011. Dr. Virasoro developed the genitourinary reconstructive surgery section at Obra Social de Empleados de Comercio y Actividades Civiles (OSECAC), in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He was the coordinator from 2007 to 2011. He is currently an Associate Urologist at Urology of Virginia LLC, since 2012. Dr. Virasoro is an Associate Professor of Urology at eastern Virginia Medical School, in Norfolk, Virginia. He is a member of the American Urological Association, and served as the Argentine representative for the International Members Committee of the AUA from 2008 to 2011. Dr. Virasoro is a board member of the Society of Genitourinary Reconstructive Surgeons (GURS), and an active member of The Société Internationale d’Urologie (SIU). Dr. Virasoro is Co-founder and board member of SAFE Surgery and Anesthesia For Everyone Inc. Dr. Virasoro is the Co-Founder, and Co-Director of a Genitourinary Reconstructive Surgery Fellowship in Santo Domingo, DR. The fellowship, accredited by Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo (UASD), est. 1538, will train two local Urologists over the next 5 years.
Dr. Virasoro has published several articles regarding genitourinary reconstruction, and has authored many chapters in urology. He has presented his research at numerous national and international meetings.
When not working, Dr. Virasoro enjoys gardening, bird-watching and spending time with his family.
Dr. Ezequiel Ferrara - Co-founder
Dr. Ezequiel Ferrara earned his medical degree with honors (cum laude) from
Instituto Universitario CEMIC in 2008, Buenos Aires, Argentina. He completed his residency program in Anesthesia also at Instituto Universitario CEMIC in Buenos Aires, Argentina from 2009 to 2014. Dr. Ferrara specializes in pediatric and adult cardiovascular anesthesia, hepatic
and renal transplant and pediatric and adult anesthesia for reconstructive surgery. He is a Board Certified anesthesiologist from Asociación de Anestesia y Analgesia de Buenos Aires (AAARBA).
Dr. Ferrara is Co-founder and board member of SAFE Surgery and Anesthesia For Everyone, Inc. He is member of ERAS society of Argentina and participated in the development of preoperative patient-focused enhanced recovery programs in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Dr. Ferrara has participated in several medical missions abroad as a volunteer in resource poor settings providing anesthesia for surgeries and medical conferences for more than 5 years.
When not working, Dr. Ferrara enjoys cooking, biking and spending time with
family.
Dr. Reynaldo G. Gomez - Board Member
Reynaldo G. Gomez, MD, FACS is Chief of the Urology Service at Hospital del Trabajador in Santiago, Chile. He obtained his undergraduate and medical degrees from the Catholic University of Chile Medical School in 1979. He completed residency training in General Surgery and in Urology at the same University and then moved to Hospital del Trabajador en 1984 where he started the Urology Service. He then performed a Fellowship in Trauma and Reconstructive Urology at the University of California in San Francisco (UCSF) in 1990 -1991. Dr. Gómez is Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and member of several scientific societies including the AUA. He is a Past President of the Chilean Society of Urology and of the Genitourinary Reconstructive Surgeons Society (GURS). He also served several terms in the board of the Confederación Americana de Urologia (CAU) and is the 2020 President-Elect of the Société Internationale d'Urologie (SIU). He is a reviewer for Urology (the Gold Journal), World Journal of Urology, International Urology and Nephrology, International Brazillian Journal of Urology and has contributed with numerous book chapters. His main areas of interest and research are trauma and genitourinary reconstructive urology, including urethral reconstruction, neurourology and neurogenic bladder. Since 2004 he has led training in urethral reconstruction in Latin America by giving annual live workshops. Dr. Gomez is fluent in English and Spanish.
